RCC Hiroshima and Music Purpose

　広島・長崎の被爆以後、世界の多くの人々は人類の絶滅を現実のものと考え、さまざまな表現行為を行ってきました。文学、映像などの分野では、ヒロシマ・原爆・核兵器廃絶・平和に関する資料について関心も高く、データベース化も進んでいます。
　中国放送は音楽の分野において資料収集すらいまだ充分とはいえない現状から、音楽関係者、広島市関係機関とで、被爆50周年の1995（平成7年）を起点に「ヒロシマと音楽」実行委員会を結成し、「ヒロシマと音楽」資料作成事業に取り組むことにしました。
　この事業は歌謡曲・ポピュラー・クラシックなど音楽のすべての部門でヒロシマ・原爆・核兵器廃絶に関わりのある音楽を掘り起こし、音源の確認、付帯資料の作成等を行い、データベース化しようとするものです。

　1999年7月現在、1800曲のデータベース化が出来ました。データベース化した曲は、

１. 広島の原爆被害をテーマとする曲
２. 「ノーモアヒロシマ」の祈り・願いをテーマとする曲
３. 核兵器のない平和な社会の希求をテーマとする曲
４. 広く「ヒロシマ」をモチーフとする曲

です。

Since the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, many people around the world have recognaized that the extermination of mankind is possible and they have expressed their concern in many ways.
The people of Hiroshima have a special interest in literature, motion pictures and music concerning the atomic bomb, the destruction of nuclear weapons and peace.

We, of the RCC Chugoku Broadcasting Company, are now collecting music materials to create a database. In 1995, unaware of what lay ahead, we organized an executive committee called "Hiroshima and Music" to collect and organize music materials related to Hiroshima.
The committee put together on the eve of the 50th memorial year of the atomic bombing, is made up of music professionals, concerned citizens and municipal officials. We are gathering all types of music concerning Hiroshima, the atomic bomb and the destruction of nuclear weapons.

Until July in 1999, we have completed the database of music, about 1800 pieces in Japanese. The themes of these music could be divided into the categories listed below ;

1. the tunes which have the theme related with the destruction of nuclear weapons,
2. the tunes which have the desire for "No more Hiroshima",
3. the tunes which have the theme hoping of peace world without nuclear weapons,
4. the tunes whose motives are related with "Hiroshima" generally.
